A Woman in a Towel

イギリスの大衆紙サンのニュースサイトでは、読者からジョークを募集して、月に1度ジョークベスト10が発表されます。

今月発表されたジョークの一つ。

A MAN is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower when the doorbell rings. After a few seconds of arguing over which one should go and answer the doorbell, the wife gives up, quickly wraps herself up in a towel and runs downstairs.

ある男が、シャワーに入るところでした。彼の妻がちょうどシャワーを終えたとき、呼び鈴が鳴りました。
少しの間、どちらが客に応対するかもめた後、妻が折れて、素早くタオルを巻いて１階に降りていきました。

When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbour. Before she says a word, Bob says, "I'll give you £800 to drop that towel that you have on."

彼女がドアを開けた時、隣の家のボブが立っていました。
彼女が何か言う前にボブが言いました、
「もし、体に巻いているタオルを落としてくれたら、800ポンド(約16万円)あげるよ。」

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.

少し考えて、妻はタオルを落とし、ボブの前で裸になりました。

After a few seconds, Bob hands her £800 and leaves.

数秒後、ボブは彼女に800ポンド渡して帰りました。

Confused, but excited about her good fortune, the woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.

妻は、訳が分かりませんでしたが、幸運なハプニングに興奮しました。
そして、タオルを巻きなおして二階に戻りました。

When she gets back to the bathroom, her husband asks from the shower "Who was that?" "It was Bob the next door neighbour," she replies.

彼女がバスルームに戻ると、旦那がシャワーの中から尋ねました、
「誰だった？」

妻は答えました、
「隣のボブだったわ。」

"Great," the husband says,

旦那は言いました、
「待ってました、．．．

"did he say anything about the £800 he owes me?"

ボブは俺が貸した800ポンドのこと何か言ってなかった？」

※イギリスでは、普通、二階にお風呂があります。
　ホテルでもシャワーが、"ちょろちょろ "で困ることが良くあるので、水圧が比較的高くなる１階にすれば良いのにといつも思います。
